According to the different compositions of glass in China, it can be divided into four categories: sodium calcium glass, low borosilicate glass, medium borosilicate glass, and high borosilicate glass. The main detection indicators include the content of boron trioxide and the average coefficient of thermal expansion. In the application for injection generic drugs and consistency evaluation, borosilicate glass material is commonly used. According to the different water resistance properties of glass abroad, it can be divided into four categories: I, II, III, and IV. The main testing indicators are surface water resistance, glass particle water resistance, and etched glass water resistance. The commonly used formulation for foreign markets is Type I bottle.

Neutralization treatment
Neutralization treatment of injection glass packaging materials is an important internal surface treatment process aimed at reducing the release of alkali metal ions (such as sodium, calcium, aluminum) on the inner surface of glass containers, improving and enhancing the water resistance of the inner surface of glass containers, thereby improving their chemical stability and ensuring drug quality and patient medication safety. Neutralization treatment usually involves treating the inner surface of glass containers with chemical substances to significantly reduce the release of alkali metal ions. The general neutralization treatment methods include acid washing and vulcanization, with vulcanization being the most commonly used.
